University College Dublin |
University College Dublin (UCD) has its origins in the mid-nineteenth century under the leadership of the renowned educationalist John Henry Cardinal Newman. Since its foundation in 1854, the University has flourished and become a fully accredited and independent public university.
As Ireland’s largest university, UCD is the country’s university of the first choice with international recognised degrees in Business, Veterinary Medicine, Architecture, Regional and Urban Planning, Engineering and Diagnostic Imaging. UCD is also the only Irish member of both CEMS (The Global Alliance in Management Education) and Global Network for Advanced Management, which are global alliances of leading business schools.
UCD is Ireland's most globally engaged university with over 30,000 students drawn from over 120 countries. It is also Ireland's leader in graduate education with over 8,000 graduate students and 1,580 PhD students benefit from a structured PhD programme, as well as the research-led education culture.
UCD's world extends beyond its campus, city and borders. UCD students and a worldwide network of 224,000 graduates benefit from a UCD education that enables them to thrive and contribute in an increasingly global community.
