This top-up degree programme is specifically designed for people who are working or interested in accounting functions within businesses, other commercial fields, or entering the accounting or finance professions. This programme will cover financial management, taxation, auditing and corporate governance topics. Theory of accounting and the practicalities of its application will also be introduced. 

Graduates of the programme are eligible for maximum of 9 paper exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Certificate and Operational Levels (8 papers) of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). It brings students closer to be a professional accountant. Graduates are involved in the treasury, business consulting, banking, government and other managerial positions, all of which require strong competencies in accounting. 

Graduates can also choose to further join the Conversion Programme (CP) through Kaplan Financial, which will ladder up onto CPA Australia or Qualification Programme (QP) of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). Maximising the flexibilities for your career achievements.

Honours Award
Honours in the degree will be awarded based on the total mark of all courses in accordance with the University's course regulations.

Teaching Mode

  • Face-to-face tuition in Hong Kong
  • Each semester is a 6-month period covering 2 courses of study
  • Each course is providing with 67 hours of seminars after office hours in the evenings, weekends and public holidays (Except for Specialist Project in Accounting)


Assessment Method
Each module, except "Specialist Project in Accounting*", will be assessed through examination and in-class assessment.

*"Specialist Project in Accounting" will be assessed through a combination of written assignments and/ or projects.

It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognize any qualification to which this course may lead.

Entry Requirement

  • Diploma in any discipline or with equivalent qualifications; and
  • English language proficiency requirement
    • Possess a diploma from a recognized institution where English is the sole medium of instruction, or
    • IELTS score of 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each band or above; or equivalent

- Exemptions could be given to accounting diploma holders and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis

^ The rebate will be awarded based on applicants' successful enrolment, paid the 1st instalment of the tuition fees and successfully completed the 1st term.

Refund Policy

  • The programme allows for a full refund of tuition fee (excluding application fee and registration fee) if withdrawal notice is received in writing by Kaplan Higher Education (HK) Limited 2 weeks prior to the start of each of the terms. There will be no refund of tuition fee if withdrawal notice is received thereafter
  • All fees paid less application fee will be refunded if the course is withdrawn or not offered
  • On premature cessation of the course, all fees and charges that have been collected in respect of any part of the course failing to be conducted on or after the date of the cessation will be refunded within 1 month of the premature cessation
  • In case of hardship and deferral (students are required to complete the course within the maximum length of 96 months) cases, the University and Kaplan Higher Education (HK) Limited will consider the refund arrangement on an individual and case-by-case basis
